Hey guys, welcome back to my blog! This post is all about my Media Studies skill audit basically a little check-in on where I’m at and what I need to level up. I’ve realized I’m pretty solid when it comes to analyzing representation, especially how different groups are portrayed across media platforms. I also feel confident breaking down how sound codes shape meaning like how a soundtrack or vocal delivery can totally shift the vibe of a scene. There’s still loads I want to improve, but I’m excited to keep building my production and analytical skills as the course goes on.
There are definitely some areas I want to get better at, especially editing and media theories.
Editing is really important because it helps the story become better and make the final product the best version it can be. Media theories give us important tools to analyze and understand media deeper, so I want to work on becoming more confident about those skills so I am able to truly comprehend it to the best of my ability. For this semester, my main goal is to improve my time management. I want to avoid rushing and be able to focus fully on each task so I can do my best work. I think managing my time well will help me grow both my skills and the quality of my projects. Overall, I'm excited to build on my strengths and develop new skills in Media Studies this semester!
